LAKE RUSSELL IS FULL 80S

Bass fishing is fair. There are fish shallow at daylight and a little longer if there is an overcast morning. Small bass are caught up in the shallows using Rapala DT6 and #5 RS Shad Raps. Cast these baits on the sides of the main lake points in close. Use a slow retrieve and even try stopping the bait for a two or three count once in a while. The better the structure on the sides of these points is with rock and woo. The smaller jerk baits in shad patterns can also be slow cranked in these areas. The crank bait bite is usually good until about 9 a.m. in the morning and is picking back up around 6:30 p.m. and will last until right before dark. During the heat of the day go to the light lead head jigs and some trick worms and fish humps and reef markers the rest of the day. Watch the Fish and Game Forecaster to be sure you are using the right baits during the higher activity levels. Use the Lowrance Structure Scan down Scan technology to scan an area and you will see the fish.
