Fishing Friends,
I was only able to fish Friday and Saturday this past week as the Weather forecast and Windy conditions caused one trip to be cancelled and Jury Duty had me at the Courthouse on Tuesday. The week before we had good trips with White Bass being caught on Main Lake Points and Humps and also on Humps on the Chambers Creek Arm of the Lake. So, we fished the same patterns on Friday but the fish were just not to be found in the first couple of hours of the trip. Finally, around 9AM, we located a School of Whites in 15' feet of water on a Hump and from 9AM to 10:30AM put a limit of 50 White Bass in the Ice Chest! 🙂 Saturday's trip was different again as a Main Lake Point had nice School of Whites and Hybrid Stripers suspended in 30' feet of water and we put 20 Whites and a nice Hybrid in the ice chest in the first 30 minutes of the morning! We found fish in several more locations and ended the morning with over 50 fish. (See Pics) What a difference a day or week can make in regard to where the fish are located and the depth you can find them in! That's Summertime fishing and it will be the same for another few weeks until we get that much wanted Fall Cooldown!
All our fish were caught on 1 oz. Silver or Chartruese Slabs with a Jig Teaser about a foot above the Slab. When the White Bass are Schooled up and moving fast, you often catch two fish at a time on this rig! We didn't fish any for Catfish this past week, but based on previous years, it's about time to get out the Danny Kings Punch Bait, rig up the Catfish Rods and put some Channel and Blue Cat filets in the Freezer!
If any of this sounds good to you, give us a call and We'll Go Fishin'!
