This past week was the best for numbers this year for me, we caught lots of fish everyday I was on the water and a good number of fish in the 4 to 5 lb. range. It’s been a strange year but this week seemed to trump them all even though we had several cold nights that were definitely not typical of North Alabama in May, but thew results were great. The bite that has not really taken off is the spinner bait bite, catching some but not as strong as one would think.


Baits were pretty much centered around Missile bait D-Bombs and 48 stick baits, Tight-Line swim jigs in shad color and some Picasso vibrating bait action over the grass. It did seem to me that the key all week was to get out of the wind, which we had plenty of all week long!
