Fishing Friends,

Our week was a slow one due to the time of year, the fishes inactivity and some much needed rain on Thursday and Friday. I fished on Tuesday with one of my fellow Guide Friends (David Bristow) and we managed to put 30 fish in the box, but had to really burn a lot of gas looking and fishing hard for them. The fish are scattered and still in their late Summer doldrums. I believe the much welcomed weather change, the nice cool evening temps and the recent rains will finally turn them on and we'll soon be talking about the "FALL FEEDING FRENZY"!



The highlight of our week was the return of Boy Scout Troop 1114 from Magnolia, Texas. (Near Houston). Twenty-eight (28) Boys and Dads arrived in the rain late Friday evening and set up their tents on the Point at the Marina. The rain had cleared by Saturday Morning, but the brisk North Wind made for some interesting boat rides and fishing all day Saturday. We conducted three (3) Shuttles at 7AM, 10AM and 1PM with five (5) fishermen on each boat and everyone got to fish and caught fish! It wasn't one of the greatest catching days but we managed to put sixty(60) fish in the box for their fish fry on Saturday Night, and caught and released a lot of smaller fish! What a GREAT GROUP of Young Men and Dads!!!!
