  • Richland Chambers Fishing Report

    Fishing Friends,

You can feel it in the air and almost touch it. You can see it all around and even smell it. If you're like me, you have been waiting for it since the first day of Summer! Of course you know what I'm talking about! It's the ABSOLUTE BEST SEASON OF THE YEAR! FALL is finally here!

We've even had a couple of great early Fall rains and the ground is now soaked and awaiting more. The Richland Chambers lake level is 10' below normal pool level as of this writing, but at least the descent has slowed with the cooler temperatures, and here's hoping we get some more Fall rains to start filling it back up! Two Marinas (Fisherman's Point and Oak Cove) still have their boat ramps open and we've heard that plans are to keep them open by dredging the channels and coves as long as possible. Several years back we were still launching when the lake was almost 13' low.

The slower bite on almost all species in September will give way to what we call the FALL FEEDING FRENZY in the next few weeks. Fish will be much more aggressive and easy to find. Check out the 309 Flats and Pelican Island areas for White Bass and Hybrid Stripers literally all day long. The Crappie will be around Bridge Pilings and Timber in 20' water depths, and Catfish can normally be found just about anywhere you find bait (Shad). It's a wonderful time of the year to be on the lake, catch lots of fish and really enjoy the outdoors.

From now until the end of the year, Adam and I will be offering Morning and Afternoon Trips. We start the trips around 7AM and 1PM and can count on catching just as many fish in PM as the AM. If you'd like information or want to reserve a date, give us a call at 903-389-4117 or check us out on the web @ www.gonefishin.biz .

Here's hoping you can get outside and enjoy the Fall and we get to see you soon!
