LAKE SEMINOLE IS FULL, STAINED & 80 DEGREES BY MATT BATY

Bass fishing is great. Lake Seminole is still on fire right now. There are really three main ways to catch them right now on Seminole. You can either frog, flip, or throw crank baits on ledges. The frog bite is probably better now than it has ever been on Seminole. Look for shallow, grassy areas with bream present. Spro has a new bait that has not hit stores just quite yet, but we have some and they are totally awesome for Lake Seminole. They are the Dean Rojas Bronzeye Shad. They have 7 awesome colors, all of which are great to throw on Seminole. The bait has tremendous walking action and a GLIDE like no other walking bait we have ever seen. They will be available sometime toward the middle to end of this month so make sure to get your orders in early at http://www.spro.com/. For flipping, you have to just pick a grass line and go! Use at least 50 lb. Sunline FX2 Froggin and Flippin Braid, a 1 ounce Fish Catchin Fool Tungsten, a 5/0 Gamakatsu EWG Superline Hook, a Fish Catchin Fool Bobber Stopper, and a Big Bite Baits Real Deal Craw in whichever color you choose. This is about the best combination for flipping I have found for the hydrilla. You may go several hundred yards without a bite, but just keep flippin and eventually you will find a couple and they will be good ones. The third option you have right now on Seminole is to use your Lowrance HDS Electronics with Structure Scan to locate stumps and lay downs on the river ledges of the Main Lake Chattahoochee River. Once you find good looking areas, throw a Stanford Deep Cedar Shad in Summer Pattern to locate schools of fish. 12 lb. Sunline FC Sniper Fluorocarbon works best for the cranking technique. You will definitely need good electronics with a chip such as Lowrance HDS Structure Scan and Navionics Mapping Cards. Look for humps, points, and ledges on the main lake part of the Chattahoochee River and fish crank baits and Carolina rigs. Learn how to use the Lowrance Structure Scan and Down Scan technology with Southern Fishing on the Water fishing schools.
