LAKE OCONEE IS FULL, 74 DEGREES
Bass fishing is good. The main lake is clear, stained up the rivers. Start the day in the back of the coves and creeks where the bait is thick. Start with a white or a white and chartreuse buzz bait. As the sun gets up use a number 7 shad rap in a natural pattern and fish it around docks in the back of the same coves and creeks. A 1/4 ounce white spinner bait fished around the same docks is a good back up pattern.

Line side fishing is fair and improving. The best bite is still a popping cork with a thing popper tied on a 2 foot leader. Look for the schools to come up in the middle of the lake from the 44 bridge to Lick creek. Trolling small crank baits is also producing some white bass along with hybrids.
Crappie fishing is good and the fish are starting to stage in the mouth of Lick creek. Look for the fish in the tops of the trees at about 5 to 15 feet deep. Use you Lowrance to locate the fish in the trees and drop a minnow down to the fish. Long lining and spider rigging are also producing good fish.
