Lake Cumberland fishin report for oct 6 th 2013.
The water temp is in the mid to upper 70's and clear. The fishing the last couple of weeks has been good for most species.
With the water cooling fish are really feeding hard getting ready for winter. Stripers have been jumping in good size schools most days. They are on the main lake and also working there way back up the creeks. The days the fish don't jump fishing has been slower. We have caught some using gizzard shad around 40 ft on main lake points. The spotted bass have also been schoolin off points and have been caught on a variety of small top water baits.
Some smallmouth have also been mixed in with them. I have not had a chance to crappie fish lately but they should be moving shallower also in shallow cover from 5 to 10 ft deep. Get out and enjoy the fall colors and beautiful fall days yet to come god bless.
