The Fall Migration Is On & the Mullet and smaller Baitfish Schools are Not Happy!
It's the second week of October and big schools of mullet, pilchards, threadfin herring, Spanish sardines, ballyhoo and glass minnows have been moving down our coast for weeks. Many of this baitfish have made their way into the ocean Inlets and into North Bay. My clients have had steady action from Spanish mackerel, bluefish, jacks of all sizes, snapper, sea trout, tarpon, snook, ladyfish, barracudas, bluerunners, cobia, snapper, grouper and a few lesser species in North Bay and along the Oceanside beaches.
On recent charters we have caught and released as many as 14 different species that have included a variety of snappers, grouper, Spanish and king mackerel, blackfin tuna, bonitos, snook, tarpon, jacks and large sea trout. The action is coming off of live pilchards, mullet. Rapala X Raps and Sub Walks and Hookup lure jig heads and Gulp baits.
If you haven't booked a fishing trip with me for a day on the water for the next two months there Is still time to do so. I have scattered openings and am anxious to get you in on the Fall action.
