LAKE ALLATOONA IS DDOWN 3.3 FEET, CLEAR & 75 DEGREES

This Lake Allatoona Bass Fishing Guide Report has been brought to you exclusively by Matt Driver

Bass fishing is slow. We believe the slowing is due to an algae bloom. The water is dropping to winter draw down so we look for the bite to pick up soon. The Spotsticker crawler head tipped with a big bite real deal crawl fished on main and secondary points is getting good bites. Numbers are down but size is good. The drop shot is the best way to fill your limit. We expect the cranking bite to pick up soon. www.5x3nation.com

Line side fishing is fair. The bite this week has been decent to good. The fish are starting to school back up and are willing to eat. We caught most of our fish this week down lining shad off of main lake points and humps. We also caught some decent fish 1/3 of the way back in the major creeks, like Kellogg’s Creek, Stamp Creek and Illinois Creek. Most of these schools are 15 to 24 feet deep and want the bait right on their nose. Thread fins are out fishing gizzards, but not by much. The dissolved oxygen level is very low and our bait is dying quickly on a hook. So be sure to carry plenty of bait with you and change it often. Top water is sporadic at best. There are small schools coming up all over the lake. But they don't stay up long. And unless they coming up in casting distance it's just isn't worth chasing the. Trolling is decent with the umbrella rigs and color doesn't seem to matter. We are running our rigs 100 feet behind the b t at speeds between 2.4 to 3.1 miles and hour. Most of the ramps are close right now on Allatoona but we do still have a few open. Use Little River, Gatewood and Red Top. Be sure to get there early. Parking spots fill up fast on the weekends. We still have plenty of openings for Thanksgiving break. Call today and book your family outing 770 827 6282
