The water temp in the upper 60's and the water is extremely clear. The weather has been beautiful this fall with leaves probably in the peak of color right now. The fishing has been good most days for most fish.
The top water activity for most fish has been great. Saying that it is foggy or real windy u can't see them so you are really hindered.
Bass have been schooling off secondary points and stripers have been everywhere. The days when conditions are right it is amazing how many places stripers are jumping. From the middle of the main lake to head of deep hollows. They are really feeding good right now as they are packing on weight for the summer.
If conditions are not good for jumps we have been bottom fishing on steep points trying to put the alewifes from 30 to 60 ft deep. This technique has been slow and steady with some nice smallmouth and catfish mixed in with them.
The crappie fishing has also been good fishing jigs and minnows from 5 to 15 ft deep.
As many of you know when the deer start rutting I live in a tree not on the water so good luck to all. Shoot straight and right lines. My next report will be in December.
God bless
