LAKE ALLATOONA IS DOWN 8.2 FEET, CLEAR & 69 DEGREES

Bass fishing has been tough as the yearly turnover is hit or miss around the lake. This should be over soon. Lately the best way to get bit is a reaction bite. A Spro Fat John fished shallow is the best thing going right now. Burn the bait back after a long cast. The shallow bite is a little better because a lot of the shallows have already turned. The swim bait bite is decent but will get hot again after the funk clears. The drop shot and jig head are getting a few bites still but will pick up when the water gets into the mid 60's range. November is looking promising.

This Lake Allatoona Fishing Guides Report for Striper and Hybrid report fishing report has been brought to you exclusively by Robert Eidson of First Bite Guide Service, 770 827 6282. www.firstbiteguideservice.com Lake Allatoona, Georgia email: eidson6260@att.net

Line side fishing is fair. The lake is in full turnover and the over all bite is just tough. The hybrid bite is decent one day then tough the next day. This is just the way it is during turnover. The striper bite remains decent. These fish are coming back down out of the river and will take a big gizzard shad on a planner board and or free line early morning and then again late afternoon. The north end of the lake has been fishing best for stripers, but there has also been a few good ones caught mid lake this week. The hybrids are schooling up and are easy to find. But getting them to eat is a different story. These fish are feeding on very small baits. We believe the crappie guys are catching as many hybrids as the line side guys right now. Mid lake is holding big schools of hybrids. Keep pulling the umbrella rigs in the river channels during mid day. But in the morning try pulling single buck tails in water less than 20 feet deep. This includes shallow humps out in open water so use the Lowrance Structure Scan and Down Scan technology along with the Navionics chip.
