The lake is at 354.36
Water Temp is 64
The fishing has been stable the past week and I look for the bite to get even better. We have had several cold fronts, storms and plenty of wind. Water temperatures have fallen into the lower sixties. The bite is good, catching quality fish. They are in schools, so when you find them you should be able to catch them, just keep making passes through the area, I’m fishing the grass beds south of the ferry crossing to new Johnsonville. I like to drift with the wind anytime I’m fishing grass; I try to stay off the trolling motor as much as possible. I see guys fishing against the wind and current and I know they have to keep their foot on the trolling motor. I really feel the fish can hear this and can become aware of your presence. So try to drift with the wind and idle up then make another drift. You won’t spook the school as much and you will be able to catch more bass.
My best bite is coming on a spinnerbait a ½ ounce blue glimmer or if the wind has stained up the water I will go to a solid white or white and chartreuse. Willow leaf blades gold 4.5 and a nickel 3.5 or Colorado. A trailer hook is advised.
I am still catching some of my bigger fish on my Blue glimmer Gun fish, its custom painted by Bag5baits.com, ( this paint has that Blue glimmer hue to it that is so popular with these Kentucky lake fish, I am looking forward to fishing it on my jerkbaits also). Earlier in the morning I am catching a few fish by fishing a swim bait out in front of the grass I am seeing schooling fish on the flats, here I’m fishing the swim bait on a Elite pro twist lock and insert swim baits heads. I’m using a Basstrix 6 inch scaled sardine.

Fisherman’s headquarters- Gill rain gear
Its fall now and foul weather will hit us, being prepared for this is a must. If a your out on the water and a cold rain or winds hit during your fishing trip having a rain suite may be ok, but it’s so important to have one that will truly keep you dry during the day. I have used so many expensive rain suites and still get wet and cold. I now use Gill’s rain gear; this company has gear that will keep you dry and warm no matter how much it rains. If you’re in the market for a fantastic rain gear then check out Gillna.com feel free to contact me if you need.

Ledge Fishing on the water class
The fish are on the ledges good and it’s a good time to learn and get confidence by catching fish on the ledges
If you’re new to Kentucky Lake or just haven’t been able to figure out how to fish the hundreds of miles of ledges that it has to offer. Then this class is for you. Fishing the ledges is something a lot of anglers struggle with. Understanding what ledges hold fish, when they hold fish and why they hold fish is something I can teach you. I will help you eliminate 90% of the lake in a short time. See what type of areas hold fish and how to find the bait.
Get on schools of fish and get them fired up! This is some of my favorite techniques on this amazing lake.
