  • Richland Chambers Fishing Report

As I was driving to the Lake one day this past week, it was very hard to keep focused on the task at hand. The task was driving on a narrow and winding FM Road between Tyler and Richland Chambers and the difficulty was that the brilliant colors of Fall were everywhere. We still had GREEN grass and Evergreen Trees, RED and ORANGE and GOLD from the Oaks and Hardwood Trees, and varying shades of BROWN from the Deer that seemed to be everywhere that particular morning! It's often the same when I'm on the Lake this time of year and should be focused on Fishing, Catching and Helping Customers put some White Bass in the Ice Chest. I find myself watching the Waterfowl that has migrated to the Lake this time of year and includes Pelicans, Gulls, Terns, Commorants, Loons, Ospreys, and the occasional Eagle. If you just look up every once in a while, it's hard to miss the many flocks of Ducks heading South, and the Geese won't be far behind! Oh yea...Monarch Butterflies are on their way to Mexico also. There's also the really dull GRAY Clouds associated with the arriving Cold Front that brought us much needed rain several times recently! And last but not least, the brilliant BLUE Skies and almost blinding WHITE Sun that comes the day after the Cold Front passes and almost tricks you into thinking it's Springtime!

Maybe the fishing hasn't been quite as tough as I think it has recently? Maybe I've just been preoccupied? Oh well, that's OK too because at least half the trip for most folks is just getting out of the house or city and enjoying what has been created for our pleasure!

The Fishing Report this week has been preempted by this Public Service Announcement! Get out and enjoy the FALL and I'm guessing you'll agree with me that it's Your FAVORITE TIME OF THE YEAR also!

    Have a Great Week!
