LAKE LANIER IS DOWN .43 FEET, THE MAIN LAKE AND CREEKS ARE CLEAR IN MOST PARTS & 61 DEGREES

Bass fishing is good as we get into the typical late fall patterns. The water temperatures continue to drop and the fish continue their movement toward their winter haunts. There continue to be many options from which to choose out there right now. You can catch fish from 2 to 50 feet deep and you can also catch them in a number of different places. There are fish on rock, on points, and they are starting to show up in creek arm ditches and the backs of creeks as well. Our main weapons over the last week were the crank bait, the spinnerbait, a Davis Shaky Head and a Chattahoochee jig. The rock has been our most consistent pattern and the one we run most often, day in and day out. Most of the time, our fish are coming from 10 to 25 feet on the rock, but some days we are finding a much shallower or much deeper bite. It just depends on the conditions, so stay flexible. I have November 29th open and we are booking for December as well. Give me a call and reserve your date NOW to learn ditch fishing with the Fish Head Spin as well deep timber fishing for those giant winter spots.

This Striper report is from Captain Ken West and Captain Mike Maddalena of Big Fish On Service 404 561 2564. www.bigfishonguide.com

Striper fishing is fair. The fishing continues to be hit or miss. You can go out and have a good day and go back to the same spots the next day and cannot find a fish anywhere. The fish are moving and there is no clear pattern. One day its main lake points the next it is pockets over a 70 foot bottom with down rods or the river channel with free lines. There are some fish surfacing on the south end of the lake early in the morning and late in the afternoon but being in the right place at the right time is critical. The problem is the right place could be anywhere. Top water baits have slowed and a half ounce buck tail with a fluke is a better bet. Keep a Zara Spook tied on and give it a try if you cannot get bit on the buck tail. We have been focusing on the creeks with the largest concentration of bait using both herring and trout on free lines, planner boards and down rods. Vary your depth and distance from the boat and boards. Don't forget the umbrella rig. You can cover a lot of water and they can be very effective when used to clip points. With all the leaves in the water be sure to check your umbrella rigs often. The best advice is just go fishing. The south end of the lake is a little better right now than the north. The water temperatures are getting colder and should stabilize within the next couple of weeks which should start to push the fish further into the creeks.
