  • The Bass Fishing is Slow...on West Point Lake

WEST POINT LAKE IS DOWN 4.8 FEET, CLEAR & 54 DEGREES Bass fishing is slow. The bass are deep and tight on the channel ledges and on the stumps near the bottom. The spots are roaming up in the shallow water during the day as the sun comes out. The best days to fish this week will be the days when the wind will be blowing. Wind blown points and stretches of the bank that hold both small rock and wood would be the best places to cast a #5 Shad Rap and small Rapala DT6. Finding the right color to use will be the key to catching more bass. Take along several colors, but be sure to include shad, fire tiger and either silver or something with chartreuse in it. Use no more than ten pound test line and fish just a little slower this week. We have GPS Bass fishing locations and a BASS FISHING WEST POINT LAKE book for sale. Ask ken for a sample. This book is $39.00. If you would like a sample, send us an e mail to ken@southernfishing.com
