  • Fishing Slow at Lake Hartwell

LAKE HARTWELL IS 2.24 FEET OVER FULL & 45 DEGREES

Bass fishing is slow and the fish are deep on the ledges on a winter pattern. Stroking a 3/8 or 1/4 ounce brown Stanley jig with a Zoom Chunk trailer in pumpkin seed color is producing some fish. A Carolina rig with a 6 inch Zoom Dead Ringer or a Biffle Craw in June bug or pumpkin seed is catching fish also. Remember to fish slowly, the water is cold and the slower you fish the more bites you will get. Up rivers are producing some spotted bass. Use a 4 inch Zoom Ring Worm in smoke glitter color or pumpkinseed color and fish the river channel ledges above I 85 bridges on both rivers. The book BASS FISHING LAKE HARTWELL is available. We have opened this lake up to avid bass anglers with over 100 key bass fishing holes. ken@southernfishing.com for a sample. See our web site for Rods Reels and Lures for Bass DVD on sale.
