LAKE SINCLAIR IS FULL, 46 DEGREES, MUDDY UP RIVER, MAIN LAKE STAINED

Bass fishing is fair. Most of the lake has become muddy with the recent rains. Cold, muddy water is one of the toughest conditions an angler can face. The best way to be successful right now is to find the cleanest water available. Cleaner water can be found in the mouths of the major creeks and some of the short pockets. Jigs, shaky heads, and crank baits are the baits of choice. Fish a ¼ ounce black and blue Buckeye Mop Jig and a 1/8 ounce Buckeye Spot Remover around the docks and brush piles. Fish these baits as slowly as possible. The lighter weight jigs and shaky heads will allow the bait to fall slower, helping you fish slower in the wintertime. A SPRO Little John or Little John MD crank bait will get a few bites in between the docks and around rocky points. Chartreuse with black back or a red craw color will produce in the dirty water. Fish these baits on a slow gear ratio reel such as the Abu Garcia Revo Winch for best results. There are some large schools of fish hanging around the creek mouths in 24 to 28 feet deep on rock structure. You can find these deep fish easily with the Lowrance Structure Scan HDS units. Once you find these fish, you can catch them by dropping a gold spoon or a drop shot vertically through the school. The new 2014 Nitro Z8 guide boat just arrived.
