  • Spring Coming Soon to Richland Chambers!

Here's hoping you have had an opportunity to get out and enjoy the few nice Springlike days we've had each week before and after the continual Cold Fronts! The Winter of 2013/2014 thus far has certainly been a challenge for the fishermen and normally February is our coldest month of the Winter. I guess we were due a realllllly cold Winter after the past few mild ones!

On those days when the Wind and Cold has allowed us to fish, we're still catching quite a few Catfish and on some trips we have even landed the Big One! For Adam and I, it's been a different Winter in that we normally just cancel trips when the White Bass and Hybrid Stripers get difficult to catch. This year we decided to offer up the slower paced Catfish Trips and have been pleasantly surprised that some trips have been anything but slow paced. We have often had a box full of 2 to 3 lb. Blue and Channel Cats, and on more than one occasion have landed fish in the 20lb. to 30lb. range. We're catching our fish on Danny Kings Punch Bait fishing in depths of 20'-30' and usually in heavy timbered areas. The bite is sometimes difficult to detect as the fish aren't real aggressive in the cold 45 degree water, but when you set the hook, you're definitely in for a good fight! We've had several FAMILIES that have given it a try this Winter and they say it's FUN, and the resulting FISH FRY is excellent!

Here's a reminder that Winter will eventually exit and Spring will be here!!! Remember that Spring Break Week is in the March 10th thru March 22nd timeframe depending on where you live. We still have plenty of Weekday openings during that timeframe, but only one boat open on Saturday, March 15th. Also, most of our Saturdays are booked in the March thru May timeframe with just a few exceptions. We encourage you to call us now if you're wanting a Spring date.

For the next few weeks, if you see a nice day in the forecast and want to get out and enjoy a day on the Lake, give us a call and we'll go Catchin'!

    Have a Great Day!
