We're calling this a "Fishing Forecast" as opposed to a "Fishing Report". Reason is that we've been catching Catfish all Winter, but Spring is about to arrive and here's what you can expect!



We'll be changing over from Catfishing to catching Big Ol' White Bass and Hybrid Stripers in the next few days! You can find the fish off the Hwy 309 Flats most mornings and catch them on a variety of baits that include Sassy Shads, Rat-L-Traps and the most reliable RSR Silver Glitter Shad Slab ( www.rsrlures.com ) . Then move on up to Pelican Island for the afternoon bite, tie on the Silver Slab and check out the 20' water range. Use your Graph and you should see huge schools of Whites that will be spawning on the long point that runs out from the Island. Other areas to find the fish include the Windsock Point, Old Hwy 287 Roadbed and Ferguson Point.

Crappie fishing will be good all through April and into early May. The fish will be on their spawn and in shallow water. Small minnows or jigs fished below a cork in the 1' to 3' water range in and around the grassy or timbered coves should produce some nice Crappie.

Blue Cats will continue to be good all through the Spring. Most folks will be fishing very shallow (1' to 3') with shad on the windblown points on the Main Lake. Danny King's Punch Bait fished in the timbered areas in a little deeper water will often result in a box full of Channel Catfish.
