I was able to get out and fish over the last two days and the weather has been beautiful. The water temperatures on the upper end of the Holston River below Cherokee Dam are holding steady in the lower fifties. TVA is still filling the lake so we are getting a lot of low water making the wade fishing excellent. Wednesday, the fish were feeding pretty well. Most of the fish we caught were in the twelve to sixteen inch range and the highlight of the day was a nice twenty two inch Brown taken on a Crystal Chenile Bugger in white. Thursday the bite slowed a lot. There was more sun but the rise activity was sparse and never became consistent. One really good sign was the increase in Caddis activity as the day progressed. Some fish are starting to react to the Caddis while others are still not showing any interest. The upcoming weather for the weekend looks to be great with lots of sun and warm weather. This should help warm the water a few more degrees and the Caddis dry bite should be good.
