I’m Bill Boyer and here‘s this week’s Rough River Lake Fishing report.
Water temperature is around 87 degrees with the water level at 4 ft
below summer pool. Water Clarity is clear.
Bass are slow and being taken ledges and channels with deep diving
crank baits fished around 16-20 ft of water. While some are also being
taken on primary points with lipless crankbaits and Carolina rigs..
Top water action is slow / fair during earlier and late hours using
Buzz baits, Spooks and Pop R’s .
Crappie are fair and being taken off brush piles and standing timber
in 13-16 ft of water near channels and mouths of creeks and coves,
minnows and tubes are the preferred.
Hybrids are fair and have been taken with spinners and spoons ,while
lures such as flukes and shad type lures fished off ledges early and
late in the day have been productive.
Bluegill action is Good! and being taken in 2-4 ft of water around
timber and rocky ledges with crickets and red worms .
Catfish are good! and being taken on ledges and rocky outcrops with
Bluegill and Goldfish
The tail waters have been producing fair numbers and Anglers are
reporting fair numbers of Hybrid and crappie there taken on minnows
and small spinners.
