I’m Bill Boyer and here‘s this week’s Rough River Lake Fishing report. Water temperature is around 86 degrees with the water level coming in at 5 ft below summer pool.
Water Clarity is clear Largemouth Bass are fair and being taken off primary and secondary points on the main lake and around the mouths of the creeks and coves on shakey head worms, jigs and Carolina rig’s. Some are also being taken in the backs of creeks and coves on buzzbaits and top water plugs early and late in the day.
Crappie are fair and being taken off brush piles in 18-20 ft of water in creeks and also cuts on the main lake, minnows and minnow tipped jigs , Anglers report tipped popeye jigs fished around standing timber have been producing fair numbers as well.
Hybrid bass are fair and being taken on channel edges on the main lake with spoon’s,and grubs fished 16-20 ft. with reports some being caught in the jumps in the late hours on flukes and Pop R type plugs.
Bluegill are Good ! and being taken in 4-6 ft of water with wax worms and crickets as well as redworms . Catfish are Good! and being taken on,Shiners & Bluegill , while good numbers are still being taken off deep channels while using Israeli carp and nightcrawlers .
