The water temp is the mid to lower 80 's and the water level has stabilized about 705 ft above sea level. The fishing for most species has been very good.
The smallmouth fishing is good using either live shad or shallow running shad type baits fished off of main lake points.
The walleye are also starting to bite some long line trolling deep diving crank baits such as bass n shad or smack tackle gizz 3. The best water depth has been 16 to 24 ft of water.
The crappie fishing has been decent just all the cover has scattered them. The future Looks really bright for them with all this new cover though.
The striper fishing like noal this time of year is fantastic. Most days we are limited out before 8 am. We are still fishing alewife herring from 15 to 40 ft. Each day seems like more fish are moving down to this end of the lake. The open water bite should really turn on in the next week or so. God bless and please take a Kid fishing.
