    BASS
Last week I caught most of the bass I caught on Strike King Series 3-Series6XD Splatter Back Crankbaits. This color (Splatter Back) is a good coloreverywhere I've fished with it, in Pickwick or any other lake I've fish withit. The Series 3 Crankbait is a good bait to start off with, as the daygoes on I like to change to a deeper running bait such as the Strike KingSeries 5 or 6 in the same color. I have also caught several fish swimmingsmall plastics on jigs. To catch fish in numbers on the last few guidetrips, I have put a small plastic worm or creature bait on a jig andfished with it in patchy grassy areas. I have caught some bigger fish in12'-25' on deep diving crankbaits and spoons. If you are fishing in theriver(Kentucky Lake side of the Pickwick Dam) you can catch plenty of fishthroughout the day on the Strike King Series 3 crankbaits along the river banksbelow the dam. If you like to fish at night, night fishing is starting topick up. The most common bait to use is a spinnerbait with a single coloradoblade. The night time spinnerbait needs to be black and it seems to help tohave a red accent. The most common night time spinnerbait used on Pickwickright now is a Strike King Mid-Night Special, it will be in black with redor blue accents, I like to tip it with a red plastic trailer.

    Stripers
If you get out early you can catch a few stripers on artificial baitsaround the dam. After the first two or three hours of daylight youwill most likely have to drift live bait from the dam downstream. Late inthe afternoon you can usually start catching stripers again on jerkbaits andtop water baits.

    Catfish
The catfish have been really biting. I have caught several catfish onnightcrawlers and cutbait ( from skipjack), fishing in 20' of water with a 1ozjig an 2/0 hook. On all of my catfishing trips lately we acuallylost count of all the small catfish we caught and we also caught severalcatfish in the 5-10 pound range. The biggest catfish we have caught on aguide trip over the past two weeks has been 25 pounds on cutbait.
