    The lake is at 359.12
    Water Temp is 82

The ledge fishing has been awesome this year. We have had some really good days. I have been fishing both secondary ledges and main river ledges. I use my Lowrance HDS units on structure scan to locate active feeding fish. Once I locate the school I will pull my Nitro off the flat into the channel and then start casting a ¾ ounce football jig green pumpkin colors with a ZOOM fat albert trailer. I am using a 7ft to 7ft 4 inch Cashion rod with a Lews reel spooled with 15lb Seaguar Fluorocarbon. I will fish the jig slowly crawling it across the mussel beds if they don’t react to that then I will fish it with short hops back to the boat. Just experiment until you get a few of them to react.

Another lure that has been catching a few of my bigger bass is fishing a swim bait on a ¾ to 1-1/4 ounce Elite Pro twist lock swim bait head. I’ve been using a 5 to 7 inch swim bait. I like a 7 to 7ft 6 inch Cashion heavy action rod with 17 to 20 lb fluorocarbon line. I am casting the bait out then letting it fall to the bottom and reeling the swim bait back with a slow retrieve.

When I find the bite has slowed down or after I’ve put a lot of pressure on a school I will fish a drop shot, using a ZOOM finesse worm or a swamp crawler in green pumpkins and june bug colors. I will use a 7ft Cashion spinning rod with 8 pound test fluorocarbon line.

Ledge and Electronics Class, on the water!

Learn and get confidence by catching fish on the ledges
If you’re new to Kentucky Lake or just haven’t been able to figure out how to fish the hundreds of miles of ledges that it has to offer. Then this class is for you. Fishing the ledges is something a lot of anglers struggle with. Understanding what ledges hold fish, when they hold fish and why they hold fish is something I can teach you. I will help you eliminate 90% of the lake in a short time. See what type of areas hold fish and how to find the bait.

Get on schools of fish and get them fired up! This is some of my favorite techniques on this amazing lake. Just give me a call or email me at
