Book your spring trips now so you won’t miss out on your favorite time of year! For you guys wanting to learn to flip this is the time of year!
The water has come up into the bushes now for you guys who love to flip like me. I am fishing back of the bays, creeks, the islands and the back water areas up towards New Johnsonville area. The fish love the buck brush here so flipping that is my main focus. When flipping the buck brush one thing I try to teach my clients is to look at the bush and visualize where the main branches run into making the stump of the bush. This is where I will make my first cast.
I see a lot of guys flipping the edges of the bush and not hitting the key area. You will catch some of your bigger fish by doing this. Another thing I will do is leave the bait in one area and just shake my rod tip not moving the bait but just enough tip action to make the bait quiver and leaving it in one place. This has always been a key thing in my flipping.
Casting spinnerbaits and Bag5baits 1.5 in green gizzard has been catching a few post spawners.
I am flipping with 25lb test Seagaur AbrazX fluorocarbon or 50lb Seaguar Kazen braid, with a 7 ½ heavy action flipping stick, a 4/0 Owner hook and a 3/8 tungsten weight.
Im casting the bag5 and spinnerbait on 17 to 20 lb Seagaur Flourocarbon

Ledge Fishing on the water class
If you’re new to Kentucky Lake or just haven’t been able to figure out how to fish the hundreds of miles of ledges that it has to offer. Then this class is for you. Fishing the ledges is something a lot of anglers struggle with. Understanding what ledges hold fish, when they hold fish and why they hold fish is something I can teach you. I will help you eliminate 90% of the lake in a short time. See what type of areas hold fish and how to find the bait.
Get on schools of fish and get them fired up! This is some of my favorite techniques on this amazing lake. Just give me a call or email me at
