Fishing statement: To try to insure that fishing stays in the hearts that love it and to help the ones that are going too!

Fish isn't the only thing this cooler can accommodate!!!

Talk about a love for fishing! Wasn’t there a country song written about a man and his fish? Wasn’t it called, “Baby, I wooed you, I caught you, and I will even lay in the cooler by your side!”

Kyle Burnett shows us that fishing in some cases can be romantic.

    Inshore Report

Bottom fishing in the sound with big baits can certainly be exciting. If you don’t believe me ask Ford Berger! While fishing with his father Art…

Ford Berger and his father Art were doing a little shark fishing for big sharks in Wassaw Sound. While using large tail fillet mullet as bait sharks circled and Ford hooked them up. Back in the old days we use a lot of tail fillet fish as big bottom baits for red snapper and grouper. We call it “butter flying the bait!” It makes for great bait, because even though it is dead the current when passing through the tail section made its waving look so alive. So I take my hat off to Ford and Al Berger for coming up with such a great bait idea and also reminding me about this old school method! As far as their rig used when targeting large sharks, well I have to tell you it is very impressive. The bottom line is Ford has safely released sharks from 7 to 15 feet long! All that is left to say now is …a big congratulations goes out to Big fish catcher Ford Berger and his father Al!

    Inshore Report
Water and air temperatures are still on the very warm side. However, that has not stopped the fish from knowing that fall patterns are just around the corner. This boils down to the fact that feeding as much as they can so as to bulk is a thought that they get in the back of their minds. Best baits are going to be live shrimp rig under popping cork, traditional adjustable cork, or just fish your bait naked with leader only. And for those that just want to take a possible fish catching stroll….This is that time of the year where slow trolling screw or paddle tails near the grass can pay off big in bites!
