Mike has over 35 years experience in Bass and Crappie fishing techniques and over 25 years experience in tournament Bass fishing in numerous lakes in the southeast. Mike also enjoys teaching kids of all ages different techniques in fishing, and for different species of fish.
Today was another one of those Coosa River days where everything just "clicked". I had a trip with a Gentleman from Tn. that wanted to learn a few patterns for his first visit to Lake Neely Henry. The fishing was great with most of the fish coming on Swim jigs and Shakers from Choo Choo Lures paired with 20 lb. Vicious Florocarbon line and 7'3" heavy action Hammer Rods. We did not fish any area a long period of time because of wanting to cover a lot of water for him to learn the lake, but the stops that we did make produced some very good quality fish. The next few weeks on Weiss and Neely Henry should be "wide open" with some great shallow fishing along edges of grass beds and shallow stump rows. Have fun, Mike Carter
