The early fall striper pattern is in full swing as usual for this time of year. September and October can be some great fishin most days with quick early limits and just about the time you think you've got em figured out, the striper will bring you back to reality. The fish are moving around a lot right now and moving fast which is what can cause some slow days. Their is still fish in shallow water on main lake points and flats that seem to be aggressive and hungry most mornings. As always this time of year their are some massive schools roaming the main lake but are hard to spot unless they come to the surface to feed and I haven't been seeing much surface action lately. Surface temps are in the mid to high 70's in most places of the western end of the lake right now. Good bait has been on the tough side as well for most of us. Smaller alweives have been fairly easy to catch and are getting eaten well. So don't be afraid to use them. Just make sure to downsize on your hooks and leaders to allow your smaller bait to swim naturally. Also we have been catchin several fish jigging spoons and the smack tackle flitter baits. Hopefully the fall topwater bite shouldn't be too far away and I'm ready and excited for it as it can be some of the funniest striper fishing there is! Good luck to everyone and good fishing!
