Bass Fishing is Good and most Bass are still shallow , with all the rain keeping the water temperature down, they are on docks, sea walls and rip rap rock near the spawning area's. Jigs, worms and shallow running crank baits and spinner baits are catching a lot of fish. Some fish are starting to show up on secondary points and road beds in 4-8 feet of water. Some bass are starting to be caught on the creek and river channel, ledges also. The Bass really seem to be scattered and on several different patterns, due to the time of year and cool water temperature. A lot of Bass are being caught any where there is a good rain water run off, Yellow Creek Falls and culverts, ect.
Crappie Fishing is Good and the crappie have moved to deeper brush and cover on the flats and old river channel ledges 8-14 feet deep.
Spider rigging with live minnows is the way to catch these post spawn Crappie. Shooting docks with a 1/24 oz Jiffy Jig is still producing some Crappie. Crappie are still being caught around the docks and the night fishing is really getting good also. Look for these patterns to hold over the summer.
Striper Fishing is Good and they are starting to show up at the Cave Hole in Little River and Little Spring Creek and the Chattooga River. Live Shad down lined 8-10 feet deep and Shad on a flat line behind the boat is the way to catch these fish.
Catfish are biting good in the flats 8-20 feet deep on cut shad.
