What a GREAT way to end the week with some much needed RAIN, cooler temps, a large group of Families for a get together, and FISH and more FISH!!! Each trip we conducted last week was loaded with FUN and FISH as the Catfish continue to provide lots of action and plenty of fish fry material! As the week closed , over 50 friends and family from the Baptist Church in Covington, Texas stayed overnight at the Marina Lodge and Cabins. They woke up Saturday morning to Thunder, Lightning, a Strong North Wind and a couple of inches of Rain. It was WONDERFUL! The elements didn't damper the spirits as we enjoyed the rain until around 10:30AM and then conducted our fishing trips. We had around 20 hearty fisherpersons made up mostly of Kids and used four boats to accommodate the Group.




Due to the strong Wind, we stayed in the Marina area and fished the Points and Timbered Coves for Catfish. We weren't disappointed as the Group caught well over 150 fish and we cleaned around 75 Blue and Channel Cats with most in the 1lb. to 5lb. size. We caught all our fish on Danny Kings Punch Bait in 5' to 15' water depths. Seems that just about any area of the Lake is holding good concentrations of Catfish and they are on an aggressive early Fall bite. The action is only going to get better as the weather gets cooler!!!

Adam and my calendar still has Weekday openings in October and November, and these are two of our favorite months for catching lots of fish and normally bigger fish.
