    BASS
Walking baits like Strike King Sexy Dawg are my number one choice of top water baits if you are not fishing over matted grass. If you are fishing a grassy area also try fishing their plastic frog, they are very weedless and one the best baits you can choose in thick grass. After the top water bite is over throw a 1/2oz Red Eyed Shad over flats, you may have to reel it back pretty fast so it will not load up on grass. When you move out of shallow water start throwing a Series 3 Crank bait, I have caught a lot of fish lately on Splatter Back and Citrus Colored Crank Baits. From 6am through 9am throw the Series Crank Bait along bluffs and drop offs. The Series 3 baits will only run approx 8' and I have caught a lot of fish in 20' of water on the crank baits because the fish are suspended in the depth that the Series 3 and 4 run. Deep water humps and ledges are accounting for most the big fish caught throughout the day. Try a 1oz Strike King Spinnerbait on deep water humps.

    Stripers
I have been able to catch fish much below Pickwick Dam pretty easy over the past week. We had a few days we were catching over 30 fish. One morning we caught over 12 stripers with no water running. I also caught several stripers in the 15+ pound range over the past week when the dam was generating. Most of the fish we caught were on hard baits. Top water baits accounted for most of the stripers. When fishing a top water bait in the turbulent water you will need to pick a large enough bait to be noticed in rough water. Do not worry about controlling the action of the top water bait around the Dam because the rough water will control it more than you can. The Strike King Series 6XD is an unbelievable bait for bass and well as strikers below Pickwick Dam. I am going to guess skipjack minnows with be the best choice of baits to use for the next few weeks.

    Catfish
I caught skip jack and fished with them with a one once sinker on the bottom in around 20' of water for catfish over the last two weeks. It did not seem to matter if the bait was alive or dead, unlike striper fishing when it helps if the bait is alive.
