  • Kentucky Lake Fishing Report - KY

    The lake is at 354.68
    Water Temp is 64

There’s been a lot of change here on Kentucky Lake the last 10 days but the water conditions are getting back to normal and I expect the bass to start biting again. The last few days I’ve seen an improvement and have caught a few big fish. I am primarily focusing on fishing the grass from Paris to New Johnsonville. The best overall bite for me has been on a white ½ ounce spinnerbait fished on 20lb Fluorocarbon and a 7ft Cashion rod. I have been catching more fish by fishing the main lake grass rather than the creeks.

If the weather is stable I have been getting a decent top water bite on a Spook and Gun fish.

Another pattern that is working is fishing the shallower flats inside the creeks or small bays. I’m looking for the shad up on these flats then casting a Rat L Trap and a 1.5 square bill crankbait in these areas, Bag5 Baits Blue Glimmer is the color that’s works best here on Kentucky lake in the fall I’ve also done really good with a Super Natural Blue Shiner color that Rat L Trap makes. I’m fishing these lures on 15lb Seaguar with a 7ft medium Cashion rod and I Lews reel. A stop and go retrieves or some type of irregular retrieve is best for me.

Note- The grass is good from the Danville area all the way past New Johnsonville.

Ledge and Electronics Class, on the water!

Learn and get confidence by catching fish on the ledges
If you’re new to Kentucky Lake or just haven’t been able to figure out how to fish the hundreds of miles of ledges that it has to offer. Then this class is for you. Fishing the ledges is something a lot of anglers struggle with. Understanding what ledges hold fish, when they hold fish and why they hold fish is something I can teach you. I will help you eliminate 90% of the lake in a short time. See what type of areas hold fish and how to find the bait.

Get on schools of fish and get them fired up! This is some of my favorite techniques on this amazing lake. Just give me a call or email me at
