    The lake is at 354.53

    Water Temp is 57-60

The fishing has been better on Kentucky Lake this past week and I am seeing fish both shallow and deeper, that’s moving out to deeper water. My primary bite is still on a white spinnerbait fished in the grass beds, a chatterbait and white buzz bait. On the warmer days before a front the buzzbait has caught a few good fish. The better grass seems to have 6 to 10 foot of water nearby. The real shallow grass flats just haven’t produced well for me this week. I am fishing these baits on a 7ft Cashion rod with 20lb test Seaguar. When the fronts move in I have also caught some fish flipping a ZOOM tube with a ¾ ounce Pro Tungsten weight on a 7ft 6 flipping stick and 20lb Fluorocarbon.

On the deeper fish that I’ve seen moving out I’ve caught them on a swimbait and a ¾ Elite pro swim bait head and a jerkbait in blue glimmer painted by Bag5 baits. The bass on this lake love this color.

Another pattern I’ve done well with is fishing the shallow flats in the back of bays and pockets. I will fish fairly fast looking for any kind of wood casting a spinnerbait, Rat L Trap and chatter bait to the target has caught me some good fish.

Note- The grass is good from the Danville area all the way past New Johnsonville.

Ledge and Electronics Class, on the water!
Learn and get confidence by catching fish on the ledges
If you’re new to Kentucky Lake or just haven’t been able to figure out how to fish the hundreds of miles of ledges that it has to offer. Then this class is for you. Fishing the ledges is something a lot of anglers struggle with. Understanding what ledges hold fish, when they hold fish and why they hold fish is something I can teach you. I will help you eliminate 90% of the lake in a short time. See what type of areas hold fish and how to find the bait.
Get on schools of fish and get them fired up! This is some of my favorite techniques on this amazing lake. Just give me a call or email me at
