Bass fishing is Good and most Bass are shallow, in the bays and coves following the shad. Rat L Traps, flat sided, crank baits and spinner baits are producing good right now. Look for this cold front to shut the Bass down for a few days.
Crappie fishing is Great and they are on the old Coosa River channel ledges 14-18 feet deep. Spider rigging with live minnows, near the bottom, is the way to catch these fall Crappie. Some fish are showing up up river near Riverside Campground on the main channel in 12-16 feet of water.
Striper fishing Poor, a few fish are starting to show up in the main lake over the last few days, and they should show up in numbers over the next few weeks.
Catfish are biting good in the deeper flats of the lake on cut bait.
