LAKE ALLATOONA IS DOWN 14 FEET, STAINED & LOW 50’S

This Lake Allatoona bass fishing guides report is from Matt Driver, www.proanglerradio.com

Bass fishing is good. The fish are suspended out and easily targeted if you have good sonar. The 10 to 15 foot range mouths of creeks and few coves where the channel swings. The deep soft plastic swim bait, and float n fly have been doing the trick. The jig bite has been great as well. Steeper rock banks or the place to be right now. The brown and purple KK Dock monkey and the Kaci’s Custom green pumpkin are catching good quality fished on 12 pound test Sun line sniper and a 6'6 MH Cashion rod. The warmer weather has got a few fish up shallow and some have even been caught on top. The warm spell will be short lived and the fish will stay deep.

Line side fishing is good. The fish are on the move and can be caught anywhere from Little River to Iron Hill. The water temperature is in the low fifty's and warms the closer you get to the dam. This is usually the time of year we put up the cast net up and fish exclusively with small trout and umbrella rigs. Early morning put out a full spread, planner Boards, free Lines and down lines. After 9am, switch to all down lines and after 10 am, we pull umbrella rigs. Over all we think the bite is starting to pick back up and should in be in full swing by Christmas. Trolling has been my best bite for numbers. But we have also caught some nice fish this week on planner boards and down lines along with the umbrella rigs. Mid lake is still holding a lot of fish. We look for these fish to start to move south and or the back of the creek in the upcoming weeks. Remember Christmas is right around the corner and First Bite Gift Certificates make great gifts. 770 827 6282
