I fish out of spacious 23 foot boat, which is now fully enclosed and heated for fowl weather. It is also equipped with modern electronics. I have dedicated my life to following the powerful striped bass. I will do everything in my power to help you have a memorable and successful fishing adventure.I have over 15 years, fishing experience on Lake Cumberland so, I know where the BIG ones are!!!

Sorry for the delay in fishing reports but almost anyone who knows me knows I love to hunt and November is the peak of my hunting season. With that being almost over I'm ready to get back on the water. This spring should be awesome on the river and the lake with normal lake conditions again.

Lake Cumbeland fishing report for jan 9 th 2015. The water temp is in the upper 40's on the lower end of lake and clear. It seems like winter has finally got here and the water temp will slowly keep falling. The fishing has been good the days that weather allows us to fish. I have been fishing the river mostly with good numbers of trout being caught. We are drifting dead shad in the current with 1/4 to 1/2 ounce of lead depending on the flow.
The lake fishing has been fair most days with stripers doing good as long as you can find them. In the winter the fish can be anywhere in the water column. Deep, shallow and everywhere in between. Typically I fish shallow first then work my way deeper if I need too. The most predictable depth has been 25 ft in the mid creek section of the lake. Crappie numbers have been good this fall with good numbers of crappie being caught from 10 to 30 feet deep with jigs and minnows fishes close to cover. I have not heard much about bass fishing but as the water gets colder typically the smallmouth bite better. Live shad fished off deep points is very effective as well as floating the fly. Thanks and hope to see you on the water.
