Bass fishing is fair with the high water temperatures this month. Bass can still be caught with a little patience. Tie a Missile twin tail worm in green pumpkin on a 7 or 8 foot heavy action graphite rod and use 14 pound test Sufix Elite line. Rig the bait Texas style and peg the sinker with a Florida Gambler style screw in sinker so the bullet weight cannot move up and down the line. The best bass fishing is in the early morning or evening. Mid day bass are in deeper water off of primary points. If it is overcast there has been a good bite this week with top water lures such as Heddon's Tiny Torpedo and the Rebel Pop R fished with a slow cadence close to the banks and on main lake points. Down lake, the Lunker Lure buzz baits with all white skirts and silver blades is fair. Stay in the creeks and on grass points mid to up river for the best day fishing.
