Lake Cumberland fishing report for March 12,2015. The water temp is 48 in creeks and 41 degrees on main lake on lower end. The water has risen several feet and muddy in the creeks due to the recent rain and snow melt. Fishing has been good even with the raising water. We were catching fish 60 to 95 feet deep then overnight the active fish were from the surface to 25 feet. We have been pulling planer boards from surface to 25 feet deep.
The debris in the water is tough but not terrible.
Fishing on the river has been a little tough but some nice fish has been caught. The water temp is 40 degrees and clear. Trout fishing has been fair close to the dam with small dead shad bounced on bottom. We caught a beautiful walleye today the biggest ive personally ever seen. She was 34 inches and 14 pounds. It was caught on a jig bounced on the bottom in a eddy close to the dam. The trout fishing will get much better when water warms a few degrees.
