Fishing on the east end of lake Cumberland is really heating up. Fish are shallow and the normal early spring patterns are a little off because of the current lake levels and muddy water. Planers fished shallow on light weights have been catching most of our fish as bottom fishing is starting to turn up some good limits of nice fish as well. As always bait on the east end is on the tough side. April is the perfect time of year to use big bait if you got it. One day the bite seems to be best at mid creek against the banks and the next day it seems to be out in the middle of the creek. Then about the time you pattern em mid creek they will be in the headwaters in 10-20 ft of water. Surface temps on east end vary from 58-63 degrees and water clarity was just starting to get decent until last night's rains. The lower end has cleared up nicely. Good luck and good fishing.
