Springtime is here and the Dogwoods and Bluebonnets are blooming! That also means the Crappie are moving to the shallow water for their annual spawn! This past week the Crappie started biting in the shallows in the coves at Fisherman's Point Marina. Small minnows under a cork in about 2' of water was the key to catching some nice size fish for Supper. On a couple of mornings while waiting for my Customers to arrive, I got out my Spinning Rod, baited up with a minnow and walked the bank around the boat docks. The result was enough Crappie for Supper for my Wife and I! The action is not fast and furious yet, but with each passing day the action should improve as the weather and water warms.
A few sporadic reports of White Bass showing up on the Main Lake have begun to drift in. Still not enough to conduct a Guide Trip, but hopefully this next week is the week the Whites and Hybrid Stripers return from the Creeks where they're spawning! In the meantime, we had one of the BEST WEEKS for Catfish that we've had all Spring! Lots of Blue Cats and Lots of Happy Customers!!!
Give us a call if you want to get in on the action and enjoy a Spring day on the water!
