The lake is at 359.21
Water Temp is in the 68 to 70
The water is finally rising here on Kentucky lake which will put the fish up in the shoreline cover. That will consist of the yellow flowers (wild mustard), buck brush and willow trees. I will be flipping the cover with ZOOMs new Z Craw, Baby brush hogs and Z hogs. I will use Green pumpkin purple, black and blue and other natural colors. I will flip these bait with a 7ft 6 Cashion flipping stick a high speed Lews reel spooled woth 25 test Seaguar fluorocarbon or 65lb test braid. I like a wide gap hook and a 3/8 or ½ ounce Pro Tungsten flipping weight.
Another pattern is fish a white spinner bait around and thru the cover especially the flooded wild mustard, I like to burn the spinner bait using a 7ft Cashion rod heavy action and a high speed Lews reel. I will usually use 20lb test line and a trailer hook. If the fish won’t react out of the fast restrieve I will slow it down trying to see what the fish will react to for that day a weather patterns. Also I will use a Bass Pro Shops Speed Shad on a Elite Pro 3/8 or ½ ounce swim bait head. Again here I’m use 20lb test line on a 7ft Cashion rod heavy action.
Ledge and Electronics Class, on the water!
Learn and get confidence by catching fish on the ledges
If you’re new to Kentucky Lake or just haven’t been able to figure out how to fish the hundreds of miles of ledges that it has to offer. Then this class is for you. Fishing the ledges is something a lot of anglers struggle with. Understanding what ledges hold fish, when they hold fish and why they hold fish is something I can teach you. I will help you eliminate 90% of the lake in a short time. See what type of areas hold fish and how to find the bait.
Get on schools of fish and get them fired up! This is some of my favorite techniques on this amazing lake. Just give me a call or email me at
