The water temp is around 60 degrees and high! Due to the recent rains the lake is really high and debris is floating a lot of places. This makes pulling planers boards quite difficult but we have had some very successful days lately with a lot of very quality fish being caught. We are fishing midcreek to the main lake from the surface to 30 feet down. Alewife herring is almost always the bait of choice an it has been readily available. The bass fishing has been really good also with great limits of largemouth and smallmouth being caught. Most common technique I've heard of is jerk baits fished close to cover. With the water being so high the amount of cover has increased so crappie fishing has been a little tougher from the reports I have got.
The river was really good until the recent opening of the flood gates. Unless the rains continue they should have them off before long.
God bless and take a kid fishing!
