Just a little over six weeks ago, our beautiful Lake was almost 11' low and after this last week's rain, Richland Chambers is only 3' below full pool level! That's a LOT OF WATER on a 45,000 acre Lake! This past week alone, the Lake rose over 2'. Normally when you have that much water in such a short period of time, the fishing really suffers. The big fish (Hybrid Stripers) did do somewhat of a disappearing act this past week, but we were still able to catch LOTS of White Bass on each of our outings.
After having to cancel our Monday trips due to Wind and Rain, we were able to fish Tuesday thru Saturday and we ended the week with some of the best weather of the Spring! The White Bass moved to Points, Humps and Ridges up the Richland Creek arm of the Lake and we caught almost all our fish on Silver or Chartruse RSR Slabs ( www.rsrlures.com). We were having to make about a 20 mile round trip to find the fish so hopefully they'll move back down to the Main Lake once the water level stabilizes.
Adam and I are completely booked for May. If you're planning on a June or July trip, we encourage you to reserve your date now. We have plenty of Weekdays open, but our Saturdays are booked till July. If you want a July 4th Weekend date, reserve it now.
Here's hoping we get to see you this Spring or Summer and enjoy some Catchin' on Richland Chambers Lake!
