The water is warming quickly with all these hot days. Surface temp on Dale Hollow is 73 and it's 67 at 15ft and 55 at 35ft
The best bite on the lake right now is trolling crank bates and spoons for pre-spawn channel cats. These fish are amongst the hardest fighters in the lake and they make great table fare.
Walleye fishing both day and night has been fair with a few in the 10lb. range being taken.
Smallmouth fishing continues to be good with most of the fish still in tight. It won't be long until they move out in good numbers.
Trout fishing has improved over the past year or so with some being caught both under lights at night and trolling spoons by day.
Crappie are are being caught in good numbers in the lay downs.
Bluegills and shell crackers haven't spawned yet with the water being still a little too cold for them. It looks like we'll have to wait for early June full moon for the first spawn.
It's the last good bite for Muskies before they head deep for the summer in June. Then they will be more easily caught in June.
