  • Cumberland River Fishing Report - KY

River is over halfway on the boat ramp. In the afternoons, the gravel bars are exposed by 2 or 3 o'clock. Some days you can even get out on 'em where they're wadeable.

For the last week or so, we're starting to see a gradual rise by about 3 in the afternoon and then rising on up until after dark.

We've had a couple of good fish come in. Had a 12 pound, 12 ounce walleye and a sauger right at 5 pounds. That's an exceptional sauger! The record I think is 7 pounds, 7 ounces.

Good numbers of trout being caught right now. We've had a couple of browns right at 10 pounds. We've had some rainbows 24-25" being caught. The numbers of trout being caught are really good...I think it's the sterile trout. Most of em average 18-21 inches.

River is a good green clear color...mid 50s. Don't get much better as far as clarity and quality. You've got the best of both worlds, not muddy or murky at all.

Haven't had much report on the stripers just yet...25-28 pounds are about the biggest I've heard of. Not that many people fishing for 'em yet but it's about time. After the 18 pound, 8 ounce brown we had caught last year, I look for a couple more big fish come in this year.

    River is in GOOD shape!
