I have been fortunate enough to make a life long past time into a livelihood. I am on the water every chance I get to try and stay keyed in on the almighty striper and to ensure limits of fish for each and everyone of my customers. However, the occasional tough days do happen, it is fishing, I give my word that I will do everything in my power to ensure that you and yours catch fish!
The striper bite has been great for me most everyday. I am fishing the lower end of the lake now full time. Bait has been wonderful every morning barring the full moon's light a few days a month. There is still quite a few fish on the eastern end still yet but the bite has been a little more predictable on the west end and bait has been a lot easier to harvest as well. Fish are literally scattered throughout the entire lake from one end to the other and can be caught anywhere in the major creek's midway to all over the main lake as well. As usual some fish are starting to run west and come another 3-4 weeks I think the bite should be phenomenal on the western end of the lake. Planers are still catching most all of our fish using 1/2 to 1 ounce weights ran anywhere from 20 feet to sometimes as deep as 50-60 feet back. Downpoles will get bit well also if you can find some fish holding still long enough to drop on 'em. Lots of fish are still spawning which can lead to a little frustration some mornings that aren't biting as well. The fish that have spawned out are hungry aggressive and ready to eat. We have been getting several nice fish a week that are in the 15-18lb. range and a few scattered out over the 20 mark. Its great too see again. As always feel free to call me anytime at (606)872-1515 or a more up to date report. God luck and tight lines!
