Richland Chambers Lake is absolutely full, the water clarity is great, water temps are pushing toward 80 degrees and the FISH ARE BITING! While we're still waiting for the Summer White Bass Top Water Schooling activity to start, we are catching LOTS of quality Whites and a few Hybrid Stripers on 1 oz. RSR Slabs ( www.rsrlures.com ) on submerged roadbeds, humps and main lake points. The fish are normally in depths ranging from 15' to 25' and are feeding on shad most late mornings and afternoons. Our most recent trips have yielded limits (25 fish per fisherman) of these good eating fish.
Blue Cats continue to be caught on the Main Lake Points on shad. Channel Catfish are being caught in the shallow timbered areas on Danny Kings Punch Bait. The fresh water has really stirred up the Catfish!
Not much to report on Crappie as we haven't fished for them recently and unlike Catfish, the Crappie don't like all the fresh water and additional current spurred by Spillway Gates being open. Still, I'd guess some can be caught on Brushpiles and Bridge Columns on minnows.
We have July and August openings and we "SPECIALIZE IN FAMILY FISHING FUN"! Give us a call and Let's get those Kids and Grandkids on the Lake for a morning of catching! Check us out on the web @ www.gonefishin.biz !
