WEST POINT LAKE IS FULL, CLEAR & MID 80’S

Bass fishing is fair. This time of year there is very little change in pattern. Fish have committed to deep water cover and will remain there for the next few weeks. Go back to Bass fishing has been poor. Fish still remain to be scattered with the rise and fall of outside temperatures. Do not look for fish to move far from some of their shallow main lake locations and move on the deeper end of blow downs. Most fish we are catching are on the end of blow downs in twelve to fifteen feet of water. For these locations use a ¼ ounce Texas rigged Zoom Ole Monster in green pumpkin. During the summer months the metabolic rate of fish are at its highest and prefer larger baits. This does not mean that fish are chasing down baits, but means fish will look for larger prey. Continue to use a slow presentation working the bait as long as thirty seconds in cover.
